You can actually use your Gear VR controller as a mouse.
Use Gear VR Controller As Mouse While not a perfect replacement for traditional controllers, you can actually control your pointer just by moving the Gear VR itself around. To enable this mode, simply open Oculus home and look at your profile picture in the bottom right corner of the screen to bring up the menu. From here, go down to “Settings”, then under General look for “Use Motion.” Toggle this on and after a moment you can now simply move your head around to point at things! The Gear VR Controller will vibrate when it’s properly aimed. If this seems difficult, try holding your controller in front of you with one hand and moving the headset around with the other until you get a feel for how well it responds. Gear vr controller as mouse and keyboard
The controller has an on/off button on the bottom of the controller. It also has two buttons on top of each other, but they are not labeled. The track pad can be pressed in four directions at once. There are no numbers on the track pad, but there are markings that appear when you rest your finger on it while pressing down.
Gear VR Controller acts like a hybrid between a joystick and track pad. You can turn it upside down if you’d like to use it instead as a pointing device:
Press the home button to return to the home screen.
Tap and hold the home button to open Oculus app.
On the top of the Gear VR controller is a Back key that takes you back one step in any menu or game, and a Menu key that brings up system options B
There are also Volume keys on the right side of the controller, and a Power key on the bottom.
The Gear VR controller uses Bluetooth 4.0 LE to communicate with your phone. So make sure both your phone and controller are charged and within Bluetooth range before playing games.
