Why my laptop is not turning on

Are you trying to turn on your laptop but it will not power on?

This is a frustrating situation and can be very inconvenient. If this has happened, then there are steps that should be taken in order to get the laptop working again. In this post, we discuss what could cause a laptop not to turn on and how to fix the problem.

Are you looking for an answer as to why your laptop isn’t turning on? Follow these easy steps so you don’t have any more frustrations!

In this post, we explain what could cause a laptop not to turn on and how to fix it.If you have an electrical problem with your laptop then the issue will be that power switch which needs resetting or there is a faulty connection in between it and the motherboard.

Firstly try resetting the Power-on switch by remove the battery then turn it over and find the power switch.

You need to be extra careful when working around any laptop, especially while taking it apart. The track pad can get caught in between your fingers which can break off the plastic surrounding it, leaving only metal exposed. If you are trying to hold down a key on your keyboard but nothing is happening take a look at this guide to make sure you are pressing the right one!

The first thing that will happen if there is no power going into your laptop is that you will not hear any sounds coming from inside of it.

Do you feel vibration when holding down keys or do they seem not to be doing anything? Are their lights on inside of the computer that normally should come on?

If there is a screen on your laptop then it should light up and if the computer is on a stand or flat surface you will hear some sound from inside of it. If this does not happen then it means that there is no power going into the computer. There are steps to take to fix this problem.

You need to try plugging in some different plugs, as sometimes people have more than one outlet by their computer which can confuse things as they may think they have plugged something in when they haven’t been able to give enough power for the computer to turn on.  In some cases, laptops only work with certain types of chargers so if you use a different type then that can cause problems.

If you have tried many different outlets and still no power, then the next step is to try taking out the battery. There are some batteries that are connected straight into the laptop which will need their cables disconnecting in order for them to come off.

If there are just two screws holding down either side of your laptop then take those out first before removing anything else. If there are more than two screws holding it down (there usually aren’t unless it has a docking station) make sure to note where they came from so you can put them back where you found them when putting your computer back together again.

After this, if the battery comes off easily, remove it and put it back after checking that there is nothing else that could be loose inside of your laptop which might fall out when the battery comes off. The next step is to plug in a charger and see if you can get any response from it at all.

If your computer did not turn on before, then there probably won’t be any lights or sounds coming from it even if you plug it in now. This means that the problem lies with the power source and not with something like a bad motherboard connection (which will make this fix more complicated). If there were no sounds and lights while trying to start up before, but after unplugging everything and just leaving it for ten minutes, then powering back on you do get some sounds and lights on your computer then unplugging everything again may be all that is needed to fix the problem.

If you still cannot get any sounds and lights from your computer, then take a look at the screen to see if it comes on or not (if there is one). If you press the power button and nothing happens then you need to check that the switch below to make sure it has been pushed down fully.

Don’t forget about other things like disk drives and hard drive connections as well as other peripherals such as printers and keyboards! Even though this guide was written specifically for laptops, most of these same steps can be applied for desktop computers as well.

It’s very important that after taking anything apart you put everything back together again exactly how it was before.
