how to fix laptop keys not working

In this post, we will show you how to fix laptop keys not working. We will cover the basics of troubleshooting, as well as some more advanced methods. Follow these simple steps and your laptop keyboard should be up and running in no time!

The first step is to determine whether the problem is with the keyboard itself or with the computer. To do this, try using an external keyboard. If the external keyboard works, then the problem is with the laptop keyboard. If the external keyboard does not work, then the problem is with the computer.

If the problem is with the laptop keyboard, there are a few things you can try:

-Check if the key is stuck. If it is stuck, try wiggling it gently to free it up.

-Clean the key. If it is dirty, use a damp cloth to clean it off. Be careful not to get any water inside of the laptop.

-Replace the key. If none of the above methods work, you may need to replace the key.

If the problem is with the computer, there are a few things you can try:

-Restart the computer. Sometimes restarting the computer can fix the problem.

Update the keyboard driver. If the keyboard driver is out of date or corrupted, updating it can sometimes fix the problem.

Replace the keyboard. If none of the above methods work, you may need to replace the keyboard.

Check Keyboard

Troubleshooting laptop keyboard issues can be a bit tricky, but there are a few things you can try. The first step is to determine whether the problem is with the keyboard itself or with the computer. To do this, try using an external keyboard. If the external keyboard works, then the problem is with the laptop keyboard. If the external keyboard does not work, then the problem is with the computer.

press each key one at a time and then release it. If a key does not work or registers twice when pressed, then there might be something wrong with that key or the switch under it.

Another way to test your keyboard is to type an email or document and see if any of the keys do not respond as they should. If you are having trouble with specific keys, such as the letter “e” or the space bar, try pressing them in different areas of the keyboard. Some keys might only work when pressed in a certain spot.

Here are the basic steps to take when trying to fix a laptop keyboard not working issue:

1) Turn off your laptop.

2) Unplug all the cords and cables connected to your laptop.

3) Remove the battery.

4) Use a screwdriver to remove the screws on the bottom of your laptop.

5) Carefully lift up the upper case and flip it over so that the screen is facing down.

 6) Look for a small Phillips head screw near the top-left corner of the keyboard and remove it.

 7) Remove the small Phillips head screw that’s located near the top-right corner of the keyboard.

8) Turn your laptop back over so that you’re looking at its screen again.

 9) Carefully pull up on the rubber tab under either screw you removed in Step 6 and 7, being careful not to affect any other components or tabs around it. This will free a metal rod securing the entire keyboard assembly to your laptop chassis, so be very careful when doing this.

10) Flip your laptop back over so that you’re looking at its bottom side again. Now use a flathead screwdriver to remove all visible screws from beneath where you just lifted the keyboard.

11) Carefully lift the keyboard away from your laptop and set it down on a flat surface.

 12) Now you can reconnect the battery, reattach all screws (including the two you removed in Step 6 and 7), reattach all cables and cords, and turn on your laptop. If everything goes back to normal, then your keyboard was simply unplugged or there was a physical issue with one or more of its keys. If not, then you’ll likely need to replace the entire keyboard panel.
