This article is here to help. We will be discussing what laptops are best suited for home use and why. You will also learn about some of the most popular brands of laptops on the market today and how they compare to each other in terms of features, price point, and overall quality. This blog post is perfect if you want to buy a new laptop that’s meant specifically for home use!
There are many things that you need to consider before buying a laptop. One of these is your budget, another important consideration is the hardware and software
Another thing you’ll need to think about is what lifestyle or type of work you intend on using the laptop for. If it’s for multi-tasking work such as video conversion, music encoding and editing, high resolution images and so on… Then opt for a dual core processor. And if your wants aren’t too demanding then an Intel Atom CPU would suffice (the Z520 has only Intel GMA 500 integrated graphics though). A good idea however would be to check out what will change in the near future. For example, there are rumors that Apple might release a new line of MacBook Airs that would sport Sandy Bridge processors and Thunderbolt I/O technology.
Now that we know what types of tasks you want to use your laptop for let’s talk about the brands. There are many different manufacturers out there who all produce excellent laptops, but not every company makes laptops that are best suited for home use or casual gaming.
Here is a list of some of the more popular laptop brands and what they specialize in:
Apple
Apple – MacBooks are very well built like their iMac counterparts, sleek designs, amazing displays (and now retina screens), great build quality. This is one laptop brand that isn’t cheap however! They offer great battery life due to OS X’s power saving features especially if you opt for an SSD drive. Here is Apple’s official website .
Lenovo
Lenovo – ThinkPad laptops are geared towards business users who demand top quality hardware and software. They are very durable laptops that are built like bricks! If you’re into PC gaming they produce some of the best laptops for this purpose (though I wouldn’t recommend them to most casual gamers). Lenovo also builds affordable laptops if you know where to look. Here is Lenovo’s official website .
ASUS
ASUS – Known for their affordable range of Chromebooks, ASUS also produces an excellent line of laptops called ZenBooks which offers great performance at a low price point. Many models sport high resolution screens (excellent for watching videos) with makes your multimedia experience even better. Asus’ ROG series is geared towards PC gamers who want all the bells and whistles when it comes to their laptop’s hardware features. Here is ASUS’ official website .
HP
HP – HP is most known for their affordable range of laptops. The great thing about HP’s line is that you can find many laptop models at various price points ranging from $200-$1500+, so there really is something for everyone. They specialize in Windows OS laptops but do offer some Chromebooks if you prefer Chrome as an alternative to Windows. Here is HP’s official website .
Toshiba
Toshiba – Another well-known company who makes very good midrange Windows laptops, especially those with Intel Atom CPUs and Celeron processors. Their Satellite series are great for those who want a reliable laptop on a budget. If you want the best bang for your buck then Toshiba has a lot to offer! Here is Toshiba’s official website .
Samsung
Samsung – Most people know Samsung for their smartphones and TV sets, but they also produce a fairly good line of laptops. Like many other laptop manufacturers, they have models in all price ranges so there’s something for everyone. They offer Windows laptops as well as Chromebooks if you want to explore that avenue. Here is Samsung’s official website .
Dell
Dell – Dell is one company that I would only recommend to business users and not consumers. This is because they produce some very high-end laptops that can be quite expensive. If you do have the money to spend and are in the market for a high-end machine then Dell is a great option, but I wouldn’t recommend their lower end models. Here is Dell’s official website .
