Unfortunately, this is a common problem for many people. In this blog post, we’ll explore some of the possible causes for this issue and suggest possible solutions. Stay tuned!
One common reason is that the computer was not able to draw enough power from the power supply to continue running, so it turned off to protect the hardware. Another possibility is that there was a software conflict between the old and new versions of the operating system, which caused the computer to crash. Alternatively, there might have been a problem with the installation process itself, which caused the computer to restart or shut down. Whatever the reason, it’s important to troubleshoot the issue so you can fix it and ensure your computer is up-to-date.
Verify that your computer meets the minimum system requirements to install the update. Check if any updates need to be installed before you can continue with installing this specific update. Ensure that your device isn’t set up to wake from sleep automatically. If it is, change the automatic sleep settings in Windows on your device. This will prevent the device from turning off while updates are being installed. Restart Windows Update by opening Command Prompt as an administrator and typing net start wuauserv. Then run Windows Update again by checking for updates in Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update . Try updating again after restarting your computer multiple times or waiting a few hours. If you still have issues, contact support.
Power supply
The another reason for a computer shutting off during updates is that the standby power supply isn’t big enough. Standby power supply (or UPS) is used as a backup system in case of sudden power loss or short circuit – so that computers won’t shutdown abruptly. The UPS itself consists out of batteries which have to be charged from time to time by plugging them into a socket – where electricity comes from wall sockets at your home/office etc… If the battery isn’t fully charged, it has no way of supplying enough current to keep the computer running during a power outage. A UPS is there to keep your PC running in case of sudden power outage but is not often used when the update takes longer than 2 minutes. Because you’ll notice that it takes some time for Windows to shut down which will result into an automatic restart – resulting into an endless loop until the battery runs out. Therefore, when planning software updates ensure that you have enough standby backup supply or connect the computer directly to wall sockets when possible – this way an unnecessary shutdown won’t happen again!
First, make sure you are running the latest version of Google Chrome. Next, try to update your current version. If you receive an error message or if your computer automatically shuts off during the update attempt, there are several things you can do:
1. Reboot your computer and attempt the update again
2. Unplug all unnecessary hardware connected to your computer such as keyboards, mice, monitors etc., then restart your computer and attempt the update again
3. Reset your router or modem by turning it off for 30 seconds then turning it back on
Shut off during update windows 10
Your Windows 10 version keeps shutting down during updates because it is not compatible with your system’s processor . Sometime processor error occurs which leads to shut down whenever you try to run an update in your system. To work around this issue follow these steps:
1) On the Start menu, select Power Options.
2) Under Choose what the power buttons do, select Change settings that are currently unavailable
3). Scroll down and enable Turn on fast startup (recommended), then click Save changes and restart your system.
4). After the reboot, Windows will no longer shut down during update since fast startup is enabled and it can run updates without any issue.
After following above mentioned procedures if you still face the same issue then it would be better if you take your Operating System to a technician for proper diagnosis of update issues in compatible devices as sometimes automatic update can give more damage than good . So it is always recommended to take help of a professional rather than trying it by yourself.
