12 vs 16 gb ram! Know the difference

RAM is one of the most important hardware specification of a computer for performance. If you choose 12 GB RAM over 16 GB, then why you should do it Here are some of the best possible reasons for choosing a 12 GB RAM over a 16 GB.

There is a lot of debate over the difference between 12 and 16 gigabytes of ram. More often than not, this comes down to what the user needs their computer for. For instance, if a computer is being used for gaming or video editing, it will benefit from the increased speed and ram that the 16 gigabyte models offer. Most people will not notice any difference in a computer’s performance when having the jump from 8 to 12 gigabytes of ram. The average user who uses their computer to check email, play games, and browse the internet will not even notice the difference between 8 and 16 gigabytes of ram.

It is common for people to have to choose between whether they need a smaller amount of space or more space on a computer. This usually is hard to decide whether to get a hard drive with a good amount of space but less amount of RAM or a smaller hard drive but more RAM. Usually people would go for getting more RAM with a smaller hard drive because the RAM is the thing that you can never have too much of. You can always change out your hard drive and get a bigger one, but you can never add more RAM. Having more RAM means that your computer and programs never have to take a step back and wait for something else to finish. With more RAM you can run more programs at the same time without your computer having to take a step back, which makes multitasking a lot easier.

Computer memory and storage memory

Computer memory is a type of volatile memory that stores data even when a computer is turned off. This memory is mainly used to store data that is actively being used by programs. This type of memory is also known as RAM or random access memory. Storage memory is a different type of memory that is non-volatile. This means that the data stored on this memory will not be erased when the power to the device is turned off. This type of memory is mainly used to store data that is not used in real time and is to be used when needed. For example, this storage memory would be used to store data that is in a hard drive, or a USB flash drive.

The main difference between computer memory and storage memory is that computer memory is what stores processing power, while storage memory holds data. Another difference is that computer memory is dynamic, or the memory can be written to, while storage memory is static, or cannot be written to.

Here are some simple guidelines that apply to most PCs and Macs:

  • 4GB: Low-end Chromebooks and some tablets with 4GB of RAM, but it’s worth considering if you’re on an extreme budget.
  • 8GB: Typically installed in entry-level notebooks. This is fine for basic Windows gaming at lower settings, but rapidly runs out of steam.
  • 16GB: Excellent for Windows and MacOS systems and also good for gaming, especially if it is fast RAM.
  • 32GB: This is the sweet spot for professionals. Gamers can enjoy a small performance improvement in some demanding games.
  • 64GB and more: Enthusiasts and purpose-built workstations only. Engineers, professional A/V editors, and similar types need to start here and go higher if needed.
